Soundtrack for the short movie The Editing
, by Andrea Cerovac.
Sound is mostly recorded with a Zoom H1 handy recorder, except for some fragments of field recordings made with an AKG 414 condenser mic connected to a Fostex
portable recorder. Music made with virtual instruments.
This soundtrack is almost part of the screenplay, it is talking to you, strongly connected to what you're seeing.
From the beginnig, is asking "What it's happening? Is this real?".
Some hi-pitch (almost ultrasonic) frequencies are used to identify this illusory mind state. They're in fact present during the dreamy garden sequences.
What I tried to do with this soundtrack was constantly anticipate what is going to happen, but without being clear. A waiting, and worrying sensation is so achieved,
and led us to a dramatical ending.
